New Survey Shows More Than Half of Employed Men Feel Torn Between Work and Home

Generational Differences Among Men

No two family situations are the same, but the men we surveyed said their attitudes towards work and life are much different compared to their own fathers.

When asked how their dads viewed their jobs, 20 percent of male respondents said their fathers strictly lived to work, spending the vast majority of their time solely filling the role of provider. But only 8 percent report feeling the same way today. Additionally, 42 percent of men say they work to live, and 50 percent feel they attained a sufficient work/life balance.
