Share the joy. Why keep all the floor mopping for yourself? Don’t let your husband hoard all the unmatched socks either. Rotating chores from time to time won’t turn cleaning the windows into playtime, but it will relieve monotony. 

Look at household tasks as valuable life skills to which everyone should have some basic familiarity. When they graduate from sorting socks, move them onto folding towels and then ironing (Does anyone still do that?) Household chores are the physical fieldwork we all must master. Teach your kids well, and make college life a lot more bearable for their future roommates.
