BAKER - fulltime

Fulltime baker needed for immediate start at fast-growing and high-profile bakery in Surry Hills. Crafting Sydney's best bagels, babka, European breads and more, this is an opportunity or a keen professional with AT LEAST 3 YEARS EXPERIENCE to join a fun and vibrant team to learn refined skills that are very hard to come by in Australia.

This is a bagel and bread baking position, with the option to move into patisserie down the track for a successful applicant.

You will need the following:

• trade qualification in bakery/patisserie

and/or

• at least three years experience as a baker or senior baker in an artisan bakery

PLUS

• experience in sourdough production and process management
• experience with a range of mixers and processes
• good oven skills
• excellent moulding skills - everything is made by hand
• outstanding communication skills - this is a highly integrated team that thrives on high morale, plus, it is an entirely open kitchen and you WILL be engaging with customers
• a genuine desire to learn - many of the products and techniques will be new to you
• basic food preparation skills - all staff are involved in the production of savoury and incidental items
• Ability to work and plan independently
• Good team skills

This position is Wednesday to Sunday, 4am start. Finish times can vary during the week, but total hours will ordinarily be 43 hour total. A salary will be offered that reflects these small additional hours.

The successful applicant will be able and willing to commit to at least 12 months in our team, preferably 2 years minimum.

Pay: $52,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
