To Be Considered For This Role You Must Have
Certificate IV in commercial cookery or related field is essential.
At least two years of chef experience.
You must be an Australian Citizen/Permanent resident or have legal working rights in Australia.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Collaborate on menu design, ensure dish quality, and develop new recipes.
Oversee daily kitchen activities, train and mentor staff, and maintain cleanliness.
Manage inventory, order supplies, and assist in budgeting for food and labour costs.
Coordinate with front-of-house staff, plan special events, and manage catering activities.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to design and update menu items.
Supervise and manage daily kitchen operations.
Ensure the quality and presentation of all dishes.
Prepare and portion ingredients for cooking.
Cook dishes following recipes and preparation standards.
Monitor preparation times and ensure timely service.
Check ingredient freshness and proper storage.
Manage inventory and order supplies.
Train and mentor kitchen staff.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization.
Safely operate and maintain equipment.
Coordinate with front-of-house staff for order accuracy.
Assist in planning special events and catering.
Develop new recipes and suggest menu improvements. Help manage the kitchen budget, focusing on food and labor costs.
Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, recipe development, and food presentation.
Well developedorganisation skills, as well as leadership and team working skills Ability to lead and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring smooth operations.
Proficiency in inventory management, cost control, and maintaining kitchen orderliness.
Effective communication with front-of-house staff and the ability to coordinate during busy service periods.
Salary: $75,000 per annum Super
