About The Role
This position is a permanent full-time role in the Finance team, based at the Moruya Administration Office. The successful candidate will ensure the effective and efficient management of the Council’s creditors systems, personnel and related functions, while providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
Your Main Duties Will Include
- Managing overall operations of creditors and creditors’ staff.
- Assisting with ensuring that maximum advantage is taken of the potential for the computer systems to automate and streamline processes.
- Ensuring complying creditors accounts are loaded by the weekly deadline.
- Ensuring complying credit card transactions are loaded within three working days of receipt.
- Reconciling creditor statements and following up any discrepancies.
- Reconciling detailed creditors systems to general ledger control accounts and ensuring that credit card suspense account balances are fully reconciled.
- Maintaining taxation records and creditor’s files including ABN details.
Salary Information
Total remuneration for the role is in the range $76,819.55 to $84,334.78 gross per annum consisting of:
- $68,896.46 to $75,636.57 base salary
- $7,923.09 to $8,698.21 superannuation (at 11.5%)
A satisfactory outcome as a result of a National Criminal History Record Check is required for appointment to this position.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will have previous experience in computerised accounting and creditors and thrive on working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You will have a flair for problem solving and an ability to perform complex reconciliations with ease. You will have strong leadership skills, open communication and keep customer service in the forefront of your mind. Your application will further demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrable ability to organise workloads and meet deadlines, and possession of leadership skills appropriate to supervising a small team.
- Demonstrable ability to work in a team environment.
- Experience and ability to apply relevant taxation legislation at transaction level.
- Experience in data entry with strong attention to detail.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
