The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for multiple Field Supervisor positions available to be part of our Biosecurity Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
The primary purpose of the role is to supervise the baiting, hygiene and tech checking field teams by coordinating, monitoring, and reporting of the operational implementation of field baiting hygiene and control activities in accordance with PIRSA policies and relevant legislation. The role develops and maintains sound relationships with field teams undertaking the Emergency Response field operations to ensure sound practices are undertaken at all times.
The role will also be required to support field teams to have positive relationships with members of the public to ensure effective field operations. Educate and promote effective fruit fly surveillance, hygiene and control activities and works collaboratively with landholders to implement fruit fly risk management in farm biosecurity plans that meet community, primary production, and natural environment requirements. Contributes to delivering the agency’s priorities including securing production through biosecurity and efficient and sustainable use of resources. The role contributes to delivering biosecurity programs to manage the potential risks to South Australia from pests and diseases and food borne pathogens relating to primary industries and leads PIRSA’s emergency responses.
