Step into a role where your expertise in managing end-to-end procurement processes, including Queensland Information Technology Contracting (QITC), will make a significant impact.

As our Senior Procurement Officer, you'll be the expert supporting our procurement processes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • liaise with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and build relationships
  • conduct market research to identify suitable suppliers and develop appropriate sourcing strategies
  • manage the end to end procurement process to ensure compliance with the Queensland Procurement Policy and QLeave's procurement policies and procedures
  • develop procurement plans, create and issue RFQs and ITOs, develop evaluation plans and reports, maintain probity and prepare contracts for goods and services and QITC
  • use problem solving, time management and interpersonal skills to manage competing priorities and contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes and procedures
  • maintain good record keeping including recording procurement documents and contracts in QLeave's document management system
  • provide support to QLeave contract managers by monitoring and tracking contract milestones and expiry dates, preparing contract extension and variation documents and ensuring relevant certifications, accreditations and insurances are up to date
  • communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders in relation to QLeave procurement policies, procedures and delegations, to ensure a consistent approach to undertaking procurement across the organisation
  • any other tasks as directed from time to time as directed by your supervisor.


This position reports to the Principal Procurement Officer and has no supervisory responsibilities or direct reports.

What We're Looking For

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • working knowledge of the Queensland Government's Procurement Framework (or similar), processes, policy and legislation, tender and contracting procedures and contract management processes
  • hands on ability to manage all stages of the procurement process, from planning, market engagement and evaluation through to supplier selection, contract development and contract administration
  • collaborating and negotiating to coordinate favourable outcomes for the procurement process
  • proactive, highly organised approach, the ability to work autonomously and appropriately manage risks and compliance
  • ability to be flexible and to show initiative to respond quickly when situations change


Practical experience in a procurement function within the public sector and/or procurement qualification (Level 2 (Intermediate) Procurement Certification Certificate, at a minimum, through the Queensland Government, or corresponding Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) qualification) will be favourably regarded.
