Team Leader - Early Intervention Activities and Intensive Family Preservation

  • Full time max term contract till 30/06/2025

The Opportunity

The Team Leader EIA & IFP Central Coast is responsible for the leadership of other members of the team and will ensure a safe and supportive environment for all associated with the service.

The team leader will lead a team of workers who work with children, families and young people who have varying levels of child protection risk. Using a person-centred approach and strengths-based approach, the team leader engages in therapeutic practice and ensures that clients are provided with appropriate advocacy, information, referral and support that reflect early intervention and specialised services of welfare issues within a child protection framework.

About You

  • A degree in Social Sciences/Youth work/Community Welfare/Social Work or equivalent combined with a minimum level of 3 years’ experience in leadership role
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills and proven ability to provide supervision to staff
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and oversee case management and plans using appropriate models of intervention
  • Proven ability to use a person-centred approach
  • Proven ability to use strengths-based approach to communicating and developing respectful, professional relationships with child, young people and families including positive communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing group activities that facilitate educational and recreational programs opportunities for young people to develop appropriate skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of the child protection legislation
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to WH&S principles and guidelines
  • Demonstrated experience in Therapeutic case management, staff wellbeing, reflection
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management

The successful applicant will possess a NSW Working with Children Check, Drivers Licence, first aid & CPR certificate and be willing to undertake a Criminal history check and a pre-employment functional medical.
