Skykraft delivers Air Traffic Management (ATM) services from space to serve the global market for air traffic surveillance and communications, especially over remote and oceanic regions. Headquartered in Canberra we use a small satellite approach and dedicated ATM infrastructure to deliver services to Air Navigation Service Providers (ANPSs) worldwide. The Role

Skykraft is looking for a reliable and experienced Manufacturing Manager to join our energetic team developing a satellite constellation to provide Air Traffic Management communication and surveillance services. The successful candidate’s will have gained experience in a similar industry to Skykraft (e.g. medical devices, low-volume portable consumer product, scientific instruments, OEM equipment supplier, radio communications devices etc.) but does not need space experience.

Key Responsibilities

Drive Production Processes:

  • Ensuring that the production process runs smoothly and efficiently from planning, scheduling to execution

Managing Resources

  • This includes estimating costs, preparing budgets and ensuring that enough resources (workforce and raw materials) to meet production goals.

Quality Control

  • Ensure that the products meeting the required quality standards and that any issues are promptly addressed.

Safety And Compliance

  • Ensuring that all safety and health standards are met to keep workplace accident free.

Team Leadership

  • Motivating, supporting and providing guidance to the production staff to maximise performance.

Continuous Improvement

  • Regularly assessing and improving production processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Experience/Knowledge Required

  • Demonstrated performance in a similar role within a technology-driven organisation
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production management
  • Knowledge of quality control standards and health and safety regulations
  • A tertiary degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or a related field is desirable
