NV1 security clearance or higher.
About The Business Area/ Section
This section of our client is the centre of excellence for learning and development. The section’s ICT environment includes classrooms and associated technologies, including audio-visual systems, software and hardware (including but not limited to projectors, smartboards, and computers) to facilitate the effective delivery of courses.
About Our Ideal The ICT Support Officer (ITIL)
Our ICT Support Officer will be responsible for assisting in providing technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software within the section. The role involves ensuring that all ICT systems (particularly audio-visual equipment and software) function efficiently and effectively to support this section’s learning and development operations.
Our ideal candidate will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion and assist in providing end user training and assistance on demand where required.
Technical Support
Our ICT Support Officer (ITIL) will provide expertise around:
- Act as a routine contact point, receiving and handling requests for IT support across the section.
- Communicate in a professional and friendly manner to assist in providing technical support to by diagnosing hardware and software related issues
- Troubleshoot, resolve and/or direct incidents reported via phone/email/Teams to relevant ICT teams across the department and escalate complex issues to high-level support as required.
- Manage the suite of software licences including renewals, installation and updates
User Assistance And Training
- Assist the section’s staff and trainees with basic IT-related tasks and provide training to staff on how to use new software and hardware.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of operational procedures and documentation for the section’s IT systems and contribute to their implementation.
Inventory and Asset Management
- Maintain an inventory of ICT hardware, software licenses, and equipment used across the section.
- Assist in the procurement and deployment of new technology equipment and software.
Project Support
- Assist in ICT-related projects such as system upgrades, migration and infrastructure improvements.
- Collaborate with ICT teams across the department (as required) to develop, implement and/or troubleshoot technology solutions to meet section’s needs.
Core Responsibilities Of The Position
- Previous IT Service Desk experience
- Previous experience in building an ICT knowledgebase
- Knowledge of ITIL processes.
- Experience with Learning Based Systems such as Learning Management Systems.
