Ever wonder how the perceptions of HR pros differ from employees when it comes to the subject of diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I)? We did, so we recently partnered with the HR Research Institute on a survey of HR professionals and employees, comparing the perceptions and experiences of each group when it comes to the state of DE&I in the workplace. Not surprisingly, there were more than a few disparities when it comes to groups’ experiences with discrimination and attitudes on pay equity. HR pros tend to have rose-colored glasses on when looking at the current state of pay equity in their organization. And while HR pros report pay equity issues more often, employees are more likely to suffer consequences when reporting these issues (44% vs. 17%). The findings make it clear that, while companies are starting to do the hard work, there’s a lot more that needs to be accomplished and communicated to employees.
