Description:
To provide strategic leadership and direction for IT function at Ascot’s mining site, the IT Lead will oversee the management of IT infrastructure, provide guidance to the IT Technician, and ensure the seamless integration of technology solutions to support operational excellence. The site IT Lead plays a crucial role in driving innovation, optimizing IT systems, and fostering an environment of continuous improvement, ultimately contributing to the site’s overall technological resilience and efficiency. The IT Lead will foster a health and safety culture of Zero Harm while ensuring compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
To be successful we are looking for someone who has strong managerial and interpersonal skills with an ability to train, coach, mentor, motivate and influence others to be accountable and responsible and has excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members, other departments, and executives. You have the ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms for stakeholders, a high degree of ethics, discretion, and confidentiality, and the ability to work independently, or closely and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve organizational goals. Someone who has a strong safety work ethic, responsible, accountable, and dependable and the ability to think strategically and align IT initiatives with the overall business strategy. You have the ability to delegate work, follow instructions to achieve results, and manage projects, the ability to be highly flexible and prioritize, multiple tasks with good time management skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent quality of work, and the ability to perform physical tasks, including sitting for long periods and lifting and moving computer equipment.
