We are currently seeking a reliable, motivated Junior Mechanical Assembler to add to our growing team! We are currently hiring for the day and afternoon shifts. Afternoon shift hours are Monday to Thursday 4:00 pm - 2:30 am. Day shift hours are Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.

Selected candidates for the afternoon shift will receive a $ 2.00 per hour shift premium.

The Mechanical Assembler’s primary function is to build and assemble parts, pipe fittings, and enclosures. Handle, move, load, and unload material, mostly heavy metal, by hand or using a variety of material handling equipment, including forklifts and overhead cranes in a high-trafficking manufacturing environment.

  • Understand tolerances to determine assembly operations.
  • Assist with rigging, hoisting, moving, and aligning simple subassemblies and components to storage areas or within the worksite using overhead cranes and forklifts using established safety precautions.
  • Fit and assemble simple parts to build heavy industrial products and equipment according to drawings and product specifications.
  • Assist in installing major components such as tanks, louvers, dampers, large-scale frames, generators, insulation, soundproofing systems, and building panels using hand and power tools.
  • Help and report with inspection, testing, examination, and investigation of parts, subassemblies, and finished products to ensure quality and detect irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed following the Occupational Health and Safety Act and participate in regular safety talks. Perform a visual inspection of equipment, including cranes, forklifts, and other tools, to ensure they are in safe working condition.

Job Specific Qualifications

  • Apprenticeship in Industrial Mechanic Millwright preferred.
  • Minimum 2-4 years experience in a heavy industrial equipment environment.
  • Ability to travel within North America with a valid passport and driver's license.
  • Must have own power and hand tools.
  • Ability to work in high paced work environment.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
