Class 3 Garbag Truck Driver

Role Description

This is a part time position, moving to full time for the right person. Drivers will be working alone, executing the daily route set out for them. Daily routes can be 50-80 stops through downtown and inner city alleys. We pride ourselves on being clean and courteous while navigating the busy streets and frequent stops. The job is physically demanding requiring bins to be moved by hand from their enclosure, to the truck for loading and back again. We leave our waste areas in better shape than we found them.

Task and Responsibilities

Daily pre and post trip

Uphold professional driving standards

Empty and deodorize bins

Record any issues at specific sites

Maintain equipment in good working condition

Report any issues with the vehicle being operated

Requirements

Class 3 driver’s license with airbrakes endorsement

Minimum 3 years experience driving class 3 vehicle in Calgary, preferable the core and inner city neighborhoods

Some mechanical knowledge or willingness to learn

Clean drivers abstract

Compensation

$28hrs

Overtime when needed

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $27.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
