Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Specialist, under the supervision of the Quality Supervisor, will primarily be responsible for continuous improvement throughout the production floor. Working alongside the quality technicians, the quality specialist will compile audit information to identify problem areas and present strategies on how to find improvements. Ensure compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, and complete and on-time delivery. As well as ensuring high standards of workmanship and efficiency.

Job Duties
  • Working Independently, the Quality Specialist will identify problem areas and processes and recommend solutions.
  • The quality specialist will continuously monitor production to ensure quality standards and production levels are consistent across different shifts.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.
  • Ensure outputs meet production schedules, safety and quality standards, as well as customer needs.
  • Ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Follow manufacturing and processing procedures, set machine or equipment controls, carry out production and inspection processes.
  • Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity, product quality, and safety.
  • Closely monitor machines for signs of problems while ensuring output is meeting set specifications.
  • Communicate with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspection of wire as well as mechanical testing to ensure product conformance to customer requirements.
Position Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • College or University Degree Preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in a quality focused role.
  • Proficient with Office suite. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work irregular schedules to provide coverage for afternoon and midnight shifts.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Work indoors in controlled and non-controlled environmental conditions.
  • Work in hot conditions or cold temperatures.
  • Exposure to sounds and noise levels that may be distracting or uncomfortable.
  • Exposure to minor cuts or burns.
  • Exposure to contaminants
