Job Description
As a Water Protection professional, you will play a key role in the provision of consulting services, covering all regulatory, normative and legal aspects related to water management (waterworks, wastewater and stormwater management networks, etc.). Your mission will be to promote sustainable engineering solutions to preserve water, an essential resource and a precious collective asset. You will work closely with CIMA 's internal and external customers in the planning of their projects, providing expert advice and developing sustainable engineering concepts. In particular, you will integrate best practices in urban hydrology, hydraulics and stormwater management. You will also participate in the development of strategies and concepts for the implementation of green infrastructure, greening and soil demineralization projects in an urban context. These initiatives will help strengthen the resilience of infrastructure to climate change and events such as flooding and sewer backups.
Primary Responsibilities
Under the supervision and with the support of his/her manager, the Water Protection Engineer/Professional will participate in the execution of a series of tasks, the main ones being :
- Develop expertise in order to offer specialized technical services and advice to CIMA 's internal and external customers
- Develop strategies and recommend concepts or best practices for stormwater management, sustainable engineering, protection of natural receptors and water sources, implementation of green infrastructure, as well as flood and sewer backup protection
- Acquire knowledge of the normative, regulatory and legal framework applicable to engineering works dedicated to stormwater management.
- Assist CIMA 's internal and external customers in obtaining their various permits (municipal, provincial and federal), all related to water management.
- Carry out expert studies to assess and identify functional deficiencies in drainage systems, diagnose their causes and recommend optimal corrective action
- Contribute to the analysis of litigation files and to the development of expert opinions on functional deficiencies or claims arising from the occurrence of stormy rains
Qualifications
- Technical knowledge of hydraulics and urban hydrology
- Particular interest in sustainable engineering and best practices in water management and protection
- Bachelor's degree in water engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering or a related field
- 2 to 5 years' relevant experience
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Sense of popularization
- Ability to proactively acquire and develop technical skills
