The City is seeking a Temporary Full-time Parks Worker to join the Parks Operations Division of the Engineering, Parks and Environment Department. The assignment begins immediately and will end in late September 2024; subject to operational requirements the assignment may be extended. Parks Workers perform a variety of manual duties in the maintenance of floral and tree areas, turf and sports fields, playgrounds, and related park areas.
RATE OF PAY: $33.86 per hour (2024 C.U.P.E. rate)
HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week.
(Primarily Monday to Friday, some weekend shifts may be required.)
Temporary Full-time employees are paid 6% of their regular earnings in lieu of paid vacation and become eligible for benefits after 6 months of continuous employment.
The successful candidates will have Grade 12 plus experience in general construction and maintenance of parks and landscape work and the stamina and coordination to perform manual work outdoors in all weather conditions.
