We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our committee as Committee Members.
Volunteers Needed for a 5 KM Walk Campaign
Connections Community Services Society is proud to support Diabetes Canada in hosting a 5 KM Fundraising Walk at the end of September. We are seeking volunteers for various committees to help plan this meaningful fundraising event. If you're interested in being part of this initiative, please review the committee categories below and submit your application using the link provided:
Commitment: Meetings once or twice a week via Zoom or in person during the planning stages. The event will be held in the Richmond area on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
Committee Members Needed:
Transportation & Logistics: Leaders, planners, runners, backstage support, etc.
Marketing and Publicity Department: Graphic designers, planners, social media managers, etc.
Finance: Budgeting and accounting specialists, etc.
Secretary: Minutes takers and clerical support.
Volunteer Management: Leaders and communication specialists.
Technical Support: On-event-day assistance.
Public Relations: Sponsorship and guest invitation coordinators.
Media and Press Relations: Media contacts.
Refreshments: Food and beverage preparation, etc.
Security Team: Traffic control volunteers.
Medical Team: First aid responders.
Clean-Up Team: Post-event clean-up crew.
Floor Manager: Set-up and take-down on event day.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other committee members to plan and execute various projects and initiatives
- Assist in organizing and attending committee meetings, taking minutes, and following up on action items
- Engage in data collection, analysis, and reporting to support decision-making processes
- Contribute to the recruitment of new committee members and volunteers
- Participate in public speaking engagements to represent the committee and its objectives
- Support in marketing efforts to promote committee activities and events
Qualifications:
- Strong administrative skills with the ability to organize and manage tasks effectively
- Experience in project management and the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the capacity to supervise and guide team members
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and interpretation for informed decision-making
- Knowledge or experience in marketing strategies for outreach and engagement
- Ability to recruit new members or volunteers effectively
- Excellent public speaking skills to communicate committee goals and initiatives
