Project Manager

Connex Personnel is looking for a Project Manager to support the execution of active ongoing capital project work in Newfoundland and Labrador. The project manager will support the execution of projects throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

Requirements:

• Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects and scopes of work;
• Create and execute project work plans, revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements;
• Prepare tender packages for contracts;
• Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs);
• Review tender packages prepared by other consultants and contractors;
• Initiate and monitor all aspects of projects to ensure compliance with schedules and budgets;
• Ensure project change requests are properly evaluated and authorized;
• Ensure all approved changes are communicated to the project team and reflected in the active project budget and schedule;
• Identify and respond to issues, implement timely interventions or escalate as required to ensure project outcomes comply with project plans;
• Ensure that terms of agreements or commitments are understood and fully respected;
• Direct and supervise consultants and contractors during the completion of specific engagements;
• Communicate with Operations on a regular basis;
• Travel to site as required to provide technical input and field support.

• Menihek:

o Spillway Gates Refurbishment Program

o Unit 3 Governor System Digital Conversion

o Units 1 & 2 Braking System Repairs

o Governor Maintenance Program

• Twin Falls:

o PCB Equipment Removal

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

• Engineering Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
• Professional Engineer registered in Newfoundland & Labrador;
• 8 years or more experience in construction projects;
• Field experience, particularly relating to hydro-electric facilities or the electrical industry in general is considered desirable;
• Excellent computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
• Ability to work in a dynamic work environment;
• A valid driver’s license will be required as there will be some travel involved.

LOCATION:

NLH’s head office at Hydro Place in St. John’s, NL. The resource may be based either full time or part time at NLH’s office located at 500 Columbus Drive, St. John’s, NL or work at their firm’s office on assigned work tasks. NLH may provide computer resources if office space is available. Resources shall report to NLH’s Program Manager or delegate for work assignments.

Special Conditions: A valid driver’s license will be required as there will be some travel involved.

Anticipated Start Date: July 22, 2024

Anticipated End Date: December 31, 2025, with the possibility of extension
Estimated Effort Time: 37.5 hours per week
