We are hiring up to two (2) full-time, temporary Storeman positions working out of Edmonton, AB for up to 6 months.

The Storeman is accountable for the day-to-day managing of EPCOR’s inventory. This includes receiving, storing, picking, shipping, and counting inventory with time spans (longest target completion time) of up to 3 months.
What you’d be responsible for
- Providing input to the plans and directions of the Manager, Warehousing/Inventory, and ensures on-going appropriate relationships with other positions.
- Operating and maintaining warehouse and operating equipment such as forklift, cardboard compactor, and shrink wrap machine safely and efficiently.
- Receiving shipments and confirming the order and quantities of stock/ non-stock, contacting the customers when goods are received, and identifying short/over shipments or delays.
- Delivering/ shipping material including completing waybills, packaging, labeling, and customs documentation.
- Performing the physical count of material.
- Managing the administration of the Stores Ordering App such as inventory orders, status changes, and add or remove catalogue items.
- Issuing material from inventory, VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) at certain locations, or non-stock.
- Crediting goods back into inventory including receiving the item from customers and assessing the acceptability of the item returned.
- Handling the receiving, storage, issuing and shipment of hazardous material according to departmental procedures and legislation.
- Transacting all material movements (receipts, returns, issues, transfers, cycle counts) in the appropriate purchasing, inventory and work management systems.
- Ensuring products that require SDS follow the MYSDS approval process before stocked in inventory.
- Providing recommendations on items requested to be added to inventory by operations whether it be VMI or standard stock.
- Ensuring the delivery of optimal results against appropriate & applicable performance metrics.
What’s required to be successful
- Completion of Grade 12 or a GED or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Completion of one (1) basic inventory and/ or warehouse management courses from a recognized post-secondary institute is preferred.
- Completion of a Warehousing Basic Occupational Certificate is an asset.
- 2 years of experience in a customer service role.
- 1 years of warehousing or related experience is preferred.
- Equipment Certifications:
- Forklift Certification Course;
- A valid Class 5 (Stores Storeman) or Class 3 (EDTI Yard Storeman) Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator’s License with 6 demerits or less. A Drivers Abstract may be required.
- Proficient in Forklift operation
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Oracle Inventory, and Oracle Purchasing systems
- Strong understanding of Basic Materials Management Practices.
- Strong working knowledge in TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods), WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System).
- Ability to complete data entry with minimal errors.
- Ability to provide good customer service.
- Ability to teach the proper use of Stores Ordering App and acting as Administrator of Stores Ordering App.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to meet the physical demands of the job, able to lift 50 lb.
- A proven track record of performance and attendance.
