Job Description:
Hockley Valley Resort and Adamo Estate Winery are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll/Human Resources Clerk to join our dynamic team. This position is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our payroll, human resources functions, and health and safety initiatives, supporting both the resort and winery operations.
Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
Collecting, calculating, and entering payroll data accurately and timely.
Processing payroll on a bi-weekly basis for all employees, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Addressing any payroll discrepancies or issues promptly and efficiently.
Health and Safety Representative:
Acting as a key point of contact for health and safety concerns and inquiries.
Assisting in the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures.
Conducting regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Chairing and/or Co-chairing health and safety meetings to discuss concerns, initiatives, and improvements.
Human Resources Support:
Maintaining employee records and ensuring compliance with data protection laws.
Assisting in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
General Administrative Support:
Providing general administrative support to the HR department, including filing, photocopying, and organizing documents.
Providing administrative support to the General Manager including minute taking, Phone communications, responding to correspondence.
Assisting with special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Executive Director, Human Resources.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll administration or human resources.
Strong understanding of payroll processing procedures and regulations.
Knowledge of Canadian employment laws and regulations.
Proficiency in payroll software.
Health and Safety certification is an asset.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
