About the role
We’re looking for an indirect tax specialist. Enhance your technical abilities and knowledge throughout compliance and analytics experience. Responsibility filing returns for various reporting cycle including GST/HST/QST/PST, insurance premium tax and sales tax on insurance. Tax automation skills are an asset to perform account reconciliations. Participate in managing the quarterly reviews and annual audit by the internal & external auditors as well as different tax authorities. Help indirect tax managers with any related questions.
The role is heavily reliant on fully understanding internal processes and data sources from many and various financial and underwriting systems in order to meet IFC’s complex compliance requirements.
Should:
3 years of industry or accounting firm experience.
CA/CPA designation
Excellent communication skills in both English and French: need to interact on a regular basis with an English-speaking clientele and colleagues across the country
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Experience with Canadian indirect taxes
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-focused and results-oriented environment.
Experience with Oracle (Fusion/ERP)
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Nice to have
P&C Insurance or financial services industry experience
Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Power Pivot, Power Query, etc.
Experience with Alteryx and TaxPrep
Experience with Canadian provincial insurance premium tax laws
