Kitchen Table Restaurants ("KTR") opened its first restaurant, Pourhouse, in Gastown in 2009 . Today, KTR oversees 13 (and growing) outlets which include Michelin-recommended restaurants, award winning gelaterias, cafes and grocery stores.
KTR are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead the finance team and oversee the financial operations of its hospitality portfolio. The Controller will be responsible for financial reporting and analysis for all outlets. The Controller will work closely with ownership and senior management and play an integral role in optimizing profitability and driving growth across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the accounting team responsible for day-to-day financial operations and reporting.
Develop and maintain financial reporting systems and processes for each outlet, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for review by senior management.
Analyze financial data and performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with location general managers and operations team to develop and implement strategies to optimize reporting standards, profitability and reduce costs.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making at both the corporate and outlet levels.
Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and internal policies, and coordinate with external auditors as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the hospitality or restaurant industry.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team of finance professionals.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving results and achieving business objectives.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across departments.
Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
