Little Canada is a high detailed and animated journey across Canada in miniature. This permanent attraction opened summer of 2021 in the heart of downtown Toronto and occupies two floors (45,000 sq. ft.) at The Tenor building. Our goal is to be a top 10 attraction in the GTA, with an anticipated attendance of over 500,000/year.

Job overview
As a part of Little Canada’s operations team, the Safety Associate works to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for Little Canada’s guests, staff and visitors. Working throughout the entire site to maintain a safe and secure environment, Safety Associates will work directly with guests and team members in a welcoming and considerate manner.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide and maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment by providing exceptional customer service.
- Act as Primary First Responder to all First Aid incidents for all guests, team members, visitors, and any visiting 3rd parties (contractors).
- Central control for the guest and site safety through CCTV monitoring and call any required emergency contacts.
- Respond to any emergency calls, including fire and evacuation requirements along with Fire Warden participation (when needed).
- Write detailed, accurate and objective incident reports for occurrences or accidents as necessary.
- Participate in Health & Safety inspections and maintenance; detect and evaluate any hazard; work closely with the Joint Health and Safety Committee and the JHSC Coordinator.
- Provide regular patrols for destinations and guest safety during operating hours; conduct Firewatch when the system is on bypass by the building management.
- Assist in the detection and prevention of theft or loss of property throughout the destinations.
- Assist in staff cash escorts; escorts any 3rd party contractors, valued guests and visiting guests who require accessibility on site.
What you possess
- Flexible to work rotating shifts, weekends, days, evenings, and holidays
- Standard (valid) First Aid and CPR Level C w/AED
- Experience in Joint Health and Safety Committee
- Smart Serve Certificate
- Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation technique
- A naturally friendly personality with a desire to meet, care for and connect with new people;
- Maintain a presentable uniform and approachable deportment
- Minimum of certification or diploma in hospitality and tourism or related field
- Minimum of 2-3 yrs of experience in client relations, security, attraction, travel and tourism, etc.
- Verbal and written Communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented and self-aware
- Guest engagement and client service attitude
- Positivity and resilience

- This role is based at 10 Dundas East, in the heart of downtown Toronto.
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time and conduct moderate lifting
- Flexible to work rotating shifts, weekends, days, evenings, and holidays
- Be willing to follow all health & safety policies and procedures and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
