We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is key to maintaining accurate financial records and managing a variety of accounting tasks using both manual and computerized systems.
Responsibilities:
Maintain financial records and manage various accounts using both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
Post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and prepare trial balances.
Maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements.
Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, utilities, taxes, and other payments.
Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
Complete and submit tax remittances, workers' compensation, pension contributions, and other government documents.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
Generate various statistical, financial, and accounting reports.
Assist with the preparation of budgets and monitor expenses.
Reconcile bank statements and oversee cash flow management.
Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation to external auditors.
Ensure compliance with federal and provincial tax regulations.
Assist in tax return preparation and other personal bookkeeping services for key executives.
Provide support for the preparation of forecasts and financial projections.
Monitor and report on the company's financial health and cash position.
Liaise with vendors and suppliers regarding payment terms and invoice discrepancies.
Completion of secondary school.
A college diploma in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field, or progress in a recognized professional accounting program (e.g., Chartered Accounting, Certified General Accounting).
Several years of experience as a bookkeeper or financial/accounting clerk.
Proficiency in accounting software and strong analytical skills.
Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
