Position Title: Territory Manager - Dealer
Team and Location: Retail Operations – Regina, SK
Position Summary: The Territory Manager - Dealer, actively builds a territory of retail accounts to meet or exceed budgeted volumes and contributions. The primary responsibility is to deliver sales growth in fuel and C-store through utilization of the Dealer Value Proposition. This position owns the sales and marketing efforts to maintain and develop an account base within a defined territory while building pipeline of new sites. Position will also be accountable for margin management and cost control to maximize profitability. This role requires a person who is able to perform under pressure. It is based “in the field” with significant customer interfaces on a regular basis. The TM owns all accounts to be sure they are in compliance with all safety and environmental guidelines and all company requirements in regard to brand are adhered to. It is a front line position that should be analyzing marketing trends and making recommendations on go to market strategies, customer behaviors and changes in a retailer’s financial position. This role leads the need internally and externally, on a daily basis and with people from various levels of organizations. The TM is a strong leader that drives legal accountability and has a high financial acumen. The individual is responsible for selling the value of PFC, resigning sites is imperative to the growth and success of PFC long term.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads a market of dealers while increasing same store growth while adding value and leadership in the Dealer Network
- Resigning sites in a very competitive market is imperative to the long-term growth of volume and EBITDA to the organization in both Fuel and C-store opportunities
- Lead strong relationships and professional values re-sign existing dealer business
- Builds a strong pipeline of ‘A’ sites for territory growth with a dual focus on NTI’s and Competitive gains in fuel and C-store
- Manage all levels of brand execution to achieve the highest consumer regard and excellent customer service for our brands.
- Continuous development and growth of Parkland’s loyalty program required under each banner
- Conducting value added quarterly site visits and assisting the dealer to exceed the mystery shop scores in forecourt and backcourt.
- Make recommendations and actively promote the advantages of Parkland through our Dealer Value Proposition while making tactical decisions on brand structure
- Deliver recommendations to the ROM and sharing best practices within team that will support and enhance the dealer base
- Analyze markets and deliver recommendations, provide required reports while using the best time management skills to make the most of your prepared schedule
- Implement all legal requirements to mitigate risk and liability to ensure overall health of dealer network
- Own the responsibility of legal duties to mitigate risk and liability within the dealer network and Parkland
- Conduct yourself with the highest level of Safety which adheres within PFC Safety policy and procedures while taking responsibility of onsite dealer safety
- Own your territory and communicate proactively with all levels of the organization
Qualifications and Skills:
- Post-secondary education in Management, Marketing or Finance
- Minimum 10 years with a multi-unit gasoline/retail or convenience store management background
- Financial Management – Results focused on income statements, balance sheets, & cash flow management
- Understanding of legal agreements, letters of Intent and other business contractual necessities
- Proven record of increased same store growth while incorporating marketing ideas to support a dealer network
- Must be able to make difficult decisions that are based on sound data / information and that are in the best interest of Parkland. Must be able to view situations from all perspectives and must be fair in assessments and be able to strike a balance in making judgment calls.
- Occupation Health and Safety and site operations – ability to enforce safety and company standards
- Computer Skills – proficiency is expected with the use of Excel, Word, Accounting Systems, and Email.
- Willingness to travel and/or overnight travel is required
- Willing to work with limited or minimal supervision
- Must have a high level of commitment to time management to make efficient use of dealer interaction
- Competitive Law knowledge an asset
- Valid Drivers License and Abstract in good standing
