As a Design Researcher, you will conduct user research and evaluations to enhance user experience across various touchpoints. This is a 6-month contract with our client in the Finance Industry. This requires the Design Researcher to work 2 days per week onsite at their office in downtown Toronto. If you are an experienced User Researcher (especially if you have experience in the finance industry), we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities
- Collaboration: Work with service design directors, designers, and business stakeholders to understand and support their research needs. Build and maintain relationships with various stakeholder groups and support the Research team as needed.
- Research Design: Define research questions, develop research approaches and participant recruitment plans, and select appropriate data collection and analysis methods.
- Research Preparation: Create participant screeners, recruit participants from internal panels or external vendors, and develop research protocols.
- Data Collection: Conduct various design research methods, including observation, ethnography, diary studies, user interviews, usability testing, and card sorting.
- Analysis: Use qualitative and quantitative approaches to analyze collected data.
- Reporting: Translate findings into clear, actionable insights in formats such as experience maps, usability test reports, and personas.
- Vendor Oversight: Oversee research vendors conducting studies on behalf of the Design Research team, as required.
- Education: Raise awareness of Design Research methods and processes among internal and external partners. Share expertise within the Research team to support projects and expand the team's knowledge base and tools.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in a dedicated User Research or Design Research role
- Extensive knowledge and experience in User-Centered Design and Human Factors research methods.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as graphical.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple studies.
- Knowledge of inferential statistics and familiarity with statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS) is an asset.
