This position is a temporary, 8-week position with full-time hours (35 hours/week). Under the supervision and guidance of REDI’s REDIworks Manager, this role will be primarily responsible for enhancing our employment preparation curriculum.
This position is funded through Canada Summer Job grant program, and eligibility criteria are as follows:
· Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
· Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
· Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assist with enhancing employment preparation and retention curriculum and prepare teaching materials and outlines for courses (e.g., resume writing, interview skills, labour market information, workplace essential skills, job search strategies)
· Create and administer tests or questionnaires to evaluate learning outcomes and training effectiveness
· Facilitate training sessions or assist classroom facilitators by shadowing, assisting with training preparation, and other tasks as directed
· Provide individualized tutorial or remedial instruction to clients who require it
Requirements:
· Currently pursuing and/or completed post-secondary education in a related field
· Ability to take direction and work independently
· Creativity and enthusiasm for designing and implementing engaging materials
· Basic computer skills for Office 365, MS Office
· Experience in creating educational development is an asset
· Efficient organizing and time-management skills
· Clear and current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check or one that is acceptable to the Executive Director
