Hotel- Maintenance team member - Residence Corporation
The Residence Corporation is seeking Full Time Hotel Maintenance Associate who is passionate about providing exceptional service and who can demonstrate compassion for clients of the Residence. We want our client experience to be “world class” and are looking for an associate with excellent hands-on experience in general handyperson repairs. The Residence Corporation is located adjacent to the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus and provides hotel accommodations to patients and families of The Ottawa Hospital. We are a not-for- profit corporation with an aim to ensure we provide accommodations that is clean, safe, and hospitable for short and longer staying guests.
We are looking for a Full time Hotel Maintenance team member.
The responsibilities of the role include; Supporting our current maintenance team on daily duties including but not limited to the following:
- Painting
- Drywall repairs
- Perform minor electrical, plumbing, drywall, building and equipment repair to ensure optimum functioning
- Assist with basic furniture assembly able to lift 75 lbs
- Operating power tools
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance jobs and repairs
- Snow shoveling
- Carpet cleaning
- Common area cleaning
- Ensures all suites are in good repair and proper order, ready for occupancy.
- Participate in fire and emergency preparedness drills
- Maintains confidentiality of all personal health and confidential information (guests, staff, other)
- Will provide coverage for fulltime staff during vacation periods up to 6 weeks per year
- Performs other related duties as required
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience as a maintenance worker ideally in the multi-unit apartment complex or accommodation setting
- Demonstrated strong knowledge in Plumbing, electrical work
- Demonstrated skills in light carpentry, electrical work, painting, and equipment maintenance
- Certificate from a program in general building maintenance considered an asset
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
- Knowledge of fire equipment
- Ability to perform physical duties which may include bending, kneeling, reaching, standing for extended periods of time, climbing ladders, lifting, and carrying boxes, tools, and equipment
- Intermediate skills in using Microsoft Office Products would be an asset
- All candidates must provide a copy of a current Police Background Check
Job Type: Fulltime, Permanent 37.5 hours weekly
Salary Range: $28.00- $30.306 per hour
Benefits: Extended Health and Dental Benefits, HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan)
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 7:00am – 3:00pm
