About The Role
We are currently looking for friendly, outgoing, and customer service-driven individuals to join our team as
Supervisor at our
Ace Liquor Grande Prairie East location.
Primary Purpose Of Job
Provide supports to management of a multimillion-dollar business unit, with a focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience. Understand customer needs and instill a customer mindset within the store, participates in stocking and merchandising of store; ensuring store is stocked and ready to serve our customers.
Essential Business Functions, Responsibilities And Accountabilities
People Management Skills
- Customer service driven, friendly, willing to talk to all customers
- Promote a work culture that makes your store an inviting place to work
- Be a role model who supports and inspires fellow team members
- Delegate tasks to team members and set priorities in partnership with management
- Communicates in a clear and concise manner to team, participates in huddles/meetings, relay pertinent information
- Provide guidance to team members while supporting management initiatives
Customer Offering
- Deliver exemplary customer service
- Greet customers when they enter the store and take customer to product when required
- Generate sales by educating, advising, and suggesting products to every customer
- Maintain a high level of service and product knowledge
- Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service in absence of management; ensure management is informed of all customer complaints
- Accountable for product rollouts and product launches in partnership with management
- Understand and utilize local market tends in partnership with management
- Evaluate programs and promotions for effectiveness and offer recommendations to management
- Assist customer from store and/or offer car service when appropriate
Financial
- Complete customer transactions on the Point-of-Sale (POS) device, including payment
- Understand the POS system and all transactions that may arise
- Ensure all cash handling policies & procedures are adhered to
- Ensure all opening & closing procedures are done correctly
- Complete end of day till reports
- Ensure safe is locked at all times and deposits are secured
Day to Day Operations
- Meet or exceed department financial targets through partnership with management
- Ensure department follows merchandising and pricing guidelines
- Assist in all operational duties in partnership with management
- Ensure store is presentable and relay any maintenance issues to management
- Manage communication (mail, email, voicemail) in absence of management
- Manage ordering and receiving in partnership with management
- Actively aim to increase and share product knowledge
- Maintain inventory levels in partnership with management
- Attend OHS and LP meetings and training sessions
- Stock shelves and cooler with product
- Set daily tasks for the store in absence of management
- Review flyers, upcoming events, and promotions; execute appropriately
- Participate in routine store maintenance and cleaning
Regulatory Adherence
- Observe that OHS, LP, ProServe/Serving It Right and other regulatory requirements and procedures are implemented and adhered to
- Maintain First-Aid, LP and OHS Training
- Maintain ProServe/Serving It Right Certification and ensure team members maintain ProServe/Serving It Right
- Ensure AGLC/BC LRS and other government guidelines are met
- Adheres to all SNDL Inc. policies, with a focus on Social Responsibility
Qualifications
Work Experience
- Minimum, 1-year experience in retail environment
- Minimum, 1-year supervisory experience (preferred)
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- ProServe/Serving It Right Certification
- First-Aid Certificate is considered an asset
- Training in wine/beer/spirits (preferred, not required)

- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Must be able to pass a Background Check
- Must have access to reliable transportation

- Report all accidents and incidents immediately to their Manager and document it in ThinkLP
- Report all broken or damaged equipment to your Manager and document it in ThinkLP
Physical Requirements
- Available to work a varied retail schedule, including evening and weekends
- Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to stand for an extended period
- Comfortable climbing ladders
Workplace Hazards
- Robbery and shoplifting – psychological stress, violence, and harassment
- Overexertion injuries
- Lifting and Handling Materials
- Slips, trips, and falls
- Knives and broken glass
