Would you like to be involved in making Edmonton clean, livable, safe, and vibrant? Reporting to the Supervisor of Capital City Clean Up (CCCU), this position is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the services, grants, and initiatives offered by the Capital City Clean Up. This position will engage participation, raise awareness through effective communication, and promote the many ways to reduce and prevent litter and graffiti throughout Edmonton. The successful candidate will be integral in raising awareness of community standards and promoting the positive influence that municipal enforcement officers have in the community. This position would be ideal for someone who likes working in a fast-paced environment, who is open to challenges and has a desire to make Edmonton a healthy, connected and vibrant community. What will you do? - Develop, recommend and implement plans for graffiti and / or litter services offered by the Capital City Clean Up that may involve internal City departments and operational areas, the business sector, residents, and various community groups - Align goals and services of the Capital City Clean Up Program to ensure work plans and activities align with council directives, and corporate business strategies - Implement marketing and promotions, community relations and public outreach, volunteer management, and public education that encourages behavior change - Develop and deliver presentations to key stakeholders, both internal and external to the corporation, on various topics as it relates to the Capital City Clean Up or other Community Standards and Neighborhoods Branch initiatives - Develop and recommend annual graffiti and / or litter project budgets and monitor expenditures - Develop, implement, and manage contracts with external contractors, consultants, private sector sponsors, and / or non-profit organizations as well as provide direction to other members of the Capital City Clean Up team or other operational staff - Manage projects, grants and events from concept to completion that are citizen centric and support the Complaints and Investigations section and / or the Capital City Clean Up program

Qualifications:

- University Degree in Communication/Public Relations, Community Development, Business Administration, Social Work, Recreation Administration or a Degree that aligns to this field of work - Minimum 5 years experience in the field of communications/ public relations, community engagement and development, project management, working with community organizations, and budget management Skills required for success: - Fully developed organizational and project management skills - Proven ability in bringing together various stakeholders, consensus building, and facilitation - Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills are required - Knowledge and experience in community development and facilitation - Able to effectively gather, synthesize, integrate, and interpret multi-faceted information from a wide range of sources - Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders including community groups, citizens, senior leadership, etc. - Proficient with various word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software including all Google Suite applications - Alignment to our Cultural Commitments and Leadership Competencies (https://bit.ly/4brRrXm) - Embracing a culture of equity, diversity, reconciliation and inclusion Conditions of Employment: - Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license (or provincial equivalent). Must obtain business auto insurance for personal vehicle use on City business - Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton Work Environment: - The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.
