Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive eye care services to patients of all ages. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment and make a difference in patients' lives.
Duties:
- Conduct eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases
- Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids
- Diagnose and treat eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care
Requirements:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited school of optometry
- State licensure to practice optometry
- Strong knowledge of optical principles and practices
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to eye care
- Experience in patient care, including senior care and pediatrics, is preferred
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems like Epic is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Sales experience for recommending eyewear options is beneficial
