Purpose
The Production Coordinator is a frontline leadership position responsible for maintaining the field to high Health Safety & Environment standards in a cost-effective manner. The Production Coordinator may be required to operate any combination of oil and gas wells or battery/gas compression facilities. Additionally, this position will oversee, lead, and performance manage several operators. The candidate must reside within the operating area for field response as required and may involve frequent traveling requirements.
Main Responsibilities & Activities
- Direct leader and mentor to the operators assigned to their team (6 to15 reports)
- Aligns goals to their leaders, sets goals for reports to deliver maximum value to Veren.
- Evaluates and manages performance of the operators reporting to them.
- Creates operational work/vacation schedules and liaises work with all other departments.
- Owner of the execution portion of OBEO (operations by exception and optimization)
- Responsible for entire team to deliver work within the OBEO work process.
- Responsible for a geographic area and works out of the field site and/or battery location in which they support.
- Monitor wells, facilities, and production equipment via both OT Platform and practical means.
- Determine and communicate production problems to support personnel.
- Maintain and actively manage production records (downtime/chemical/water injection reports) within the ROCR rooms as much as possible.
- Commissioning of new wells, pad sites and facilities
- Coordinate the shut down and startup of wells and facilities for all types of maintenance and repairs.
- Participate and lead in monthly safety meetings. Continually check to ensure OMS COP’s and SOP’s are followed
- Prioritize and communicate daily/weekly activities via the platform outlined by the area foreman (VT SCADA, One Note, Weekly Meeting etc.)
- Strong risk management skills and the ability to escalate when required. (HSE, Production & Personnel)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- High school diploma is required and 10 years direct oil and gas experience.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Trade Certificate, 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate would be considered an asset.
- Must have complete working knowledge of plant, corporate safety and environmental rules, procedures, and policies.
- Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Must have excellent decision-making capabilities and the ability to exercise good judgment.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Safety training must be current and up-to-date
