We are seeking someone to work in the Richmond, BC area. This position requires a very detailed, deadline driven individual to perform full cycle bookkeeping/accounting/clerical duties, including G/L, A/R, A/P and inventory.  You will prepare journal Entries, monthly and year-end closings, file monthly/quarterly government returns, bank reconciliations, fixed asset maintenance plus inventory management.  You will also maintain filing and record systems, answer customer inquiries, and perform general office duties.  You will be interacting with our sales team and will be required to provide reports and spreadsheets to them in a timely manner.

Who we’d like to meet:

  • You are very comfortable on a computer and learn software quickly, Sage 100 accounting software, maintaining financial records and understand the demands of a small to medium business.
  • You are willing to “go the extra mile” and help another person with their duties if the job requires it without sacrificing your own deadlines.
  • You learn quickly to gain an awareness of the work-flow to allow you to plug yourself in without getting in the way.
  • You are flexible and open to learning new ways of doings things and are comfortable with constant change. Primarily this means asking for help when you need it and learning from your mistakes.
  • You are willing to communicate on a regular and timely basis with other staff. You need to not only stay up to speed on everything, but orchestrate teamwork where it is needed and elicit information you do not have.

 

Required Skills:

  • Must have strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be fluent in English.
  • Desire and ability to learn new tasks.
  • Able to work with and co-operate with other personnel.
  • Able to work productively with minimum supervision.
  • Good work record and strong work ethic.
  • Organizational and analytical skills.
  • Applicant must be punctual and have no attendance issues.
  • Professional demeanour and customer care oriented.
  • Math skills.
  • Good number pad data entry skills.

 

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting and/or bookkeeping experience.

 

Salary:  $40,000 to $55,000 annually depending on experience
