Job Posting for Technician - Commercial Security Equipment at Worldwide Security Ltd.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Technician is primarily responsible for delivery, installation, service, repair, trouble shooting, and inspection of equipment for internal and external customers. This position also supports other departments on a project basis.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Technician responsibilities will include:
Installation of security and other equipment including cable and conduit in accordance with Worldwide Security and ISO standards (CCTV, Access Control, emergency telephones, intrusion alarms and more.)
Installation, termination, and testing of CAT5 & CAT6 cabling
Attend service calls, troubleshoot, and repair customer and company owned equipment
Product assembly and configuration
Pre-installation site walk through and inspections
Complete work orders, timesheets, expense, and vehicle reports per company policy
Assist in warehouse with shipping/receiving, deliveries, product assembly and clean- up when needed.
Complete in-house maintenance to equipment and facility as required
Liaise and provide support to other departments including executive team, accounting & HR, and Sales
Participate in weekly operations meetings when schedule allows
Attend mandatory and job-specific training courses for safety certification
Willingness to upgrade knowledge and skills and participate in company training and educational opportunities
Maintain approved company uniform and safety footwear
Other duties and projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY COMPETENCIES
General electronics troubleshooting and understanding of low voltage applications and equipment
Basic networking and Windows experience
Knowledge of video/video streaming in commercial environment
Experience with voice communications in IP environment
Balance a physically demanding workload including standing, lifting, climbing, bending, crawling in confined spaces, and working in a variety of indoor/outdoor environments
Strong organizational skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
Able to manage sensitive information and situations with discretion and tact
Relevant post-secondary education or experience installing security equipment in commercial environment
A valid Ontario driver’s license
Safety training - Training provided per job-specific requirements.
