Powerland, a Xerox Business Solutions company, is adding an IT Project Manager to our Professional Services team. This role will require a combination of skills including Information Technology Project Management and a consultative approach to working with clients. You have strong experience in infrastructure-based projects, are independently driven to deliver, have a strong work ethic and can manage multiple projects at a time. Conflict resolution and strong leadership skills are second nature to you because you truly understand what it takes to get a project to completion.
Responsibilities:
Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one or more initiatives simultaneously.
Provide leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
Anticipate, identify and resolve issues and problems by mobilizing the necessary resources and using appropriate escalation procedures.
Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources and lead the project management team meetings.
Manage all aspects of related projects to ensure the overall objectives are aligned to and directly supports the client’s goals.
Facilitate and step client stakeholders through complex technology and business decisions.
Prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project.
Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership.
Manage project scope and changes.
Participate and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders.
Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities.
Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization.
Define the Statement of Work and specifications for the requested services.
Design and facilitate workshops.
Analyze existing systems to understand both the business domain environment that the systems support and the technical environment in which they operate.
Perform impact analysis on the changes to existing systems and processes.
Work on both business and technology projects.
Participate in change management strategies and plans used to promote adoption of the solution.
Skills and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus.
Proven experience in project management in the information technology sector.
Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
5-7 years' experience seeing projects through the full life cycle.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful.
Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to lead project teams of various sizes and see them through to completion.
Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies.
Initiative and a passion to deliver results that make a difference.
Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Mastery of Microsoft (MS) Office Products, including MS Project and Excel.
Strong business judgment and common sense.
Understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs.
