Title: Chief, Public Safety Job Type: Regular Company: Roswell Park Cancer Institute Department: Public Safety Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Leads, promotes and supports a comprehensive, customer sensitive section that provides safety, security, fire protection and other services to the Roswell Park campus; manages the Public Safety Division including hiring and promotions, participating in policy development, implementing applicable policies, developing shift assignments, staff training, and resource development and allocation; participates in a lead role for major campus event planning. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience License and Certification Requirement 1. Certified as a New York State Peace Officer 2. Valid New York State driver’s license Education and Experience 1. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of fifteen (15) years in a public safety role in a large institutional environment , including seven (7) experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity in a related field; and 2. Absence of a felony criminal record. NOTE: 1. These minimum qualifications are subject to change. Incumbents must meet specific physical and medical requirements at the time of appointment and at appropriate intervals thereafter. 2. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
