Job Title: Footwear Designer - UGG Women's Reports to: Senior Design Director Women’s UGG Location: Goleta, CA or Remote-Los Angeles The Role The UGG Footwear Designer is passionate about their work and possesses the creative ability to design innovative product true to the brand DNA. Under the direction of the Sr. Design Director, the Footwear Designer will manage the design process in a collaborative work environment translating briefs and knowledge of market trends into commercial designs. They will develop and then implement designs that capture new markets, increase consumer demand, and deliver on the design assignment from the product team in a timely manner. Your Impact The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to: Apply seasonal brand direction, market research, trend insight, and knowledge to interpret business briefs from the product team to select materials, and actively create and present new innovative concepts. Produce creative, innovative designs with an ability to problem solve with trend right, market relevant ideation, that is true to the brand. Manage and drive multiple design projects from conceptualization to finished product adhering to calendar deadlines while completing digital template guidelines. Review prototypes in a timely manner and update tech packs to reflect agreed upon changes and modifications. Create and manage timely execution of tech/design packages ensuring all level of detail is accurate. Collaborate and support peers, and clearly communicate with Product and design team to ensure design objectives are reflected in the creation and execution of the product. Proactively anticipate how to manage design deadline in order to meet Critical Path (CP) dates Who You Are Soft skills: of emotional intelligence; flexibility to adapt to change quickly; and the ability to work with different personalities and teams that may have conflicting deadlines and/or result goals Clear and precise with verbal and written communication; possesses a strong ability to convey desired result on all material developments to Materials and PD Team Highly motivated, creative team player, problem solver and self-starter with great work ethic, that can work independently in WFH/hybrid environment. Passionate about footwear and knowledgeable in women’s shoes and fashion trends and can interpret trends. Exhibits a high design taste level and is proficient in use of color. Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to be flexible and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, deadline and process driven; exceptional attention to detail. Possess a strong understanding of interdependency between design and development processes; ability to conceptualize and translate from 2D to 3D. Knowledge of product design, construction techniques, and appropriate use of materials, including extensive knowledge and full understanding of product design including outsole construction techniques, last making, materials, color, etc. Ability to communicate effectively with development team, sales, marketing, and merchandisers on product design goals and process. Positive personality, collaborator and good listener with an openness and willingness to learn.
