Our Biotherapeutic Discovery Research Center at San Diego is growing in key areas. Our research group focuses on discovering innovative biotherapeutic medicines saving lives and improving patients’ quality of life, by applying innovative protein discovery, engineering, and characterization technologies; thus, making a significant difference through contributions to the development of novel biotherapeutic for unmet medical needs. We are looking for a highly motivated Biologist with a diversified background in both in vitro biology and biochemical assay development to join our Antibody Discovery group in Biotechnology Discovery Research. The successful candidate will have a strong research background in biochemical and cell-based assays, or other relevant evaluation methods. The successful candidate will join a highly interactive, collaborative, and innovative scientific team to discover and advance large molecule drugs to combat diseases in the diabetes, pain, neurodegenerative and auto-immune areas. The candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support the development of therapeutic antibodies and advance technology. Key Responsibilities Support antibody discovery platforms according to established protocols (e.g., primary cell isolation, magnetic selection procedures). Assess reagent quality and establish and supervise performance standards. Perform relevant screening techniques such as ELISA, cell binding via flow cytometry to characterize antibody output from discovery platforms. Diligent record keeping. Basic Qualifications B.Sc. in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry, Molecular/Cell Biology, Biotechnology or related field) with 1 years of industry experience Additional Skills/Preferences Experience in standard tissue culture techniques, cell maintenance, media formulation, and conducting established transfection methods is desired. Strong technical, organization, documentation, and communication skills (verbal and written). Work collaboratively with project teams on-site to achieve critical research objectives and timelines improvements. Flow cytometry experience desired Strong cell biology background Desire and ability to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges. Ability to work productively and to foster collaborations in an interdisciplinary team environment. Experience with standard data analysis software (Microsoft Excel, GraphPad Prism).
