This position is to help the Community Health Improvement Department track, manage, coordinate, and communicate financial information regarding multiple programs, grants, invoices, and contracts. This individual will prepare and maintain all financials related to the annual budgets for all cost centers within the department in collaboration with assigned Financial Specialist. In coordination with grant owners, he/she will create, manage and close annual grant accounts for all grants as well as prepare monthly grants (and SPF) reports with information from Financial Edge. This individual will work closely with the director, budget managers and grant and SPF owners to review financial activity overall impact of the activity and transparency in financial communications.
The person is expected to accurately manage and track all journal entries, invoicing, and receipts for department accounts. In addition, the individual will coordinate with the director and all grants managers in ensuring that reports to funders are timely and accurate. He/she will assist the department in management of contracts with external entities and primary contact for financial inquiries for community primary care clinics. This position partners with the Grants Management Department to ensure compliance with all Federal A-133 compliance needs and supporting the department with critical information and tracking for audit preparedness.
Working Relationship/Contacts:
The Grant Administrator works closely with those responsible for management of grants and budgets (including the Director, Manager Adult Outreach /CHT, Medical Home Implementation Lead, Manager Health Management/EFAP and Manager Community Outreach.) He/she will also work closely with the assigned Finance Specialist in the Finance Department and may be provided functional guidance as needed. This person must also maintain excellent collaborative relationships with external entities receiving Community Benefit dollars and with other UVM Medical Center departments including Accounting, Budget, Legal and others. The person also teams with the Grants Management Department on all financial related needs for grants and specific purpose funds and accounting.
Education:
Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business analysis or related business field and minimum of three to five years’ experience providing financial and programmatic support in a complex system.
Experience:
Successful experience in program planning, including financial analysis highly preferred. Experience with grant administration and financial tracking preferred.

Must have advanced financial data analytics expertise.
Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Must have advanced spreadsheet and word processing skills. Database skills are a plus.
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving abilities and follow-through skills.
Must have attention to detail as well as the capacity to consistently provide accurate, timely, and comprehensive information.
Excellent communication and customer service skills including the ability to communicate complex financial information to a diverse group of staff and management.
Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast- paced environment.
Ability to assimilate and retain high levels of detail.
