JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Supervisor implements and directs the daily operation of the Image Management Center. The Supervisor oversees all duties associated with Outreach via PACS and Patient Placement Services. Responsibilities include staffing, orientation, training, maintenance and evaluation of Image Management associates and specialists. In addition, the Supervisor will conduct data collection endeavors such as quality monitoring/analysis and productivity analysis and, from the compilation of that data, and collaboration with departmental administration, will implement process improvement initiatives where indicated. The Supervisor solves problems and facilitates processes required to meet daily patient and customer needs related to Radiology images.  This includes providing direct supervision of day shift staff and oversees activities for the evening and night shift as well as coordinating interdepartmental working relationships necessary to achieve work unit goals. The Supervisor also serves as a role model and mentor and holds operational duties dictated by staffing and work flow demands. Participates in development of Radiology policies and procedures. Assist the manager with long range planning and the operational budget.

EDUCATION:

Associates degree in Business or Records Administration is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Three years’ experience in health records management. Knowledge of computer systems and applications is required. Demonstrated planning, organization and analytical skills required. Ability to provide constructive leadership under pressure. Ability to interact effectively, on a daily basis, with multiple personalities within Radiology, other hospital departments and physician offices. Required training and knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy, including a variety of Clinical Informatics Systems. Possess leadership, independent judgment, initiative, organizational, and communication skills.
