Position Summary


100% is looking for an experienced and inspired Head of Product — Eyewear. This person will play a pivotal role in the future progression of our brand.

As Head of Product you will own the product vision, category roadmaps, defining short, medium and long term strategies that drive innovation, technology, design, positioning and growth. This encompasses creating line plans that set the direction for new products while managing product life cycles to ensure cohesive story telling. Driving alignment of strategies with key stakeholders to ensure success of the brand and category while meeting high expectations of excellence in product strategy and execution

You will ensure cohesive alignment between all key stakeholders within the organization to ensure category success. You will be responsible for achieving business unit results by driving sales, improving overall efficienciencies, and enhancing customer satisfaction by way of thorough planning and ultimately, the execution of high quality products. You will partner and collaborate with a wide variety of diverse teams across the organization, including: R&D, production, brand & product marketing, sales, design, finance, operations, customer experience and customer care.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the product strategy for the company over the near, mid, and long term future, continuing to position 100% at the forefront of the eyewear space
  • Establish, communicate, execute and achieve the company's product vision and scaling milestones in strategic alignment with business objectives and revenue goals
  • Develop comprehensive product briefs including technology, innovation and design needs, target consumer, volume expectations, price, and margin requirements
  • Consolidate business, brand, and market needs to define the product roadmap including technology, key stories, style attributes, segmentation, and market opportunity
  • Responsible for category life cycle management, volume expectations, price, and margin
  • Define annual Style & SKU budgets and assess sku productivity
  • Responsible for assortments and product mixes for the different sales channels, and accounts
  • Monitor consumer insights, competitive intelligence, and data analytics to deliver growth-driving product innovation and build a world-class product platform.
  • Proactively collect information to support the definition of meaningful consumer targets for product launches in alignment with consumer personas
  • Develop product competitive analyses via field visits, journals, market feedback and sales data
  • Drive product innovation and technology roadmap with R&D teams
  • Drive business profitability through an understanding of our key product levers
  • Set product growth, ASP, and margin objectives for the category by brand and channel
  • Determine product pricing based on strategic direction, competitive positioning, and target margins
  • Develop product forecasts, manage global inventory levels, and reconcile forecasts to overall budget
  • Develop analytics to create financial models to model growth and growth projections
  • Collaborate with the brand and product marketing teams to give product input into stories, messaging, positioning, assets: athletes, brand story, and technology highlights
  • Present product stories, samples, sales tools and training to key sales teams and accounts
  • Attend sales meetings and trade shows to communicate product stories and consolidate feedback
  • Identify sales tools and training required to communicate and differentiate product stories
  • Plans and manages special collection launches coordinating all different aspects (forecasting and planning, communication, logistics and operations)
  • Controls the service level for the eyewear business and works with internal/external counterparts to ensure a high level of service for the eyewear business
  • Prioritize high impact initiatives based on data-driven ROI analysis
  • Build and improve upon processes in order to deliver products that exceed our brand and consumer needs


Requirements

Skills:

  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing
  • 10 years of product management, category management, or product development, preferably in the eyewear industry, and 8 years of leadership experience
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and a proven ability to drive a product line through a strong growth stage
  • Strong leadership skills to be able to create cross-functional partnerships
  • Thorough knowledge of the competitive landscape and the key industry dynamics
  • Effective communicator and presenter with strong leadership skills and experience communicating complex information to multiple individuals/audiences
  • Knowledge within retail, wholesale and direct to consumer spaces
  • Ability to work, think creatively, analytically and strategically in a fast-paced, hands on environment and anticipate the needs of a changing landscape.
  • Ability to articulate, drive, and ensure process standardization and adoption of best practices
  • Strong project management skills
  • High-energy, innovative, and visionary leader who has owned end-to-end product vision, planning and roadmaps
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence
  • Demonstrated knowledge of operational issues with portfolio management, risk management
  • Exposure to businesses undergoing hyper growth and proven ability to positively contribute to the growth
  • Market focus with an eye towards competition, trends, and a proven ability to drive direction in competitive environments
  • Ability to prioritize competing opportunities, balance market needs with business goals, drive detailed trade-offs over the product life cycle, manage conflict, and articulate the rationale behind product decisions
  • Strong PC skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook Expansion of technology platforms and operations
