CTCT Division The CTCT division (a joint venture between Trimble and Caterpillar) creates world-leading grade control and automation products for customers in the paving, construction, landfill, and mining industries. Our products make operators of heavy equipment more productive, whether they’re working on a landscaping job in someone’s backyard, leveling a section for a house, building a subdivision or highway, or operating an 800-tonne excavator on a mine site. Central to our success is accurate positioning. We utilize the latest in technology from our in-house developed positioning technologies utilizing IMU, GNSS, laser, optical and sonic sensors, and some tech we can’t even talk about yet, to empower machine operators with clear and accurate guidance. In many cases, we automate functions of the machine, so the operator can concentrate on other tasks. The Dayton office is one of five in the global CTCT organization. CTCT software ranges from the latest web, native mobile, cloud, and 3D rendering technologies to real-time embedded applications, hardware interfacing, and device and plant simulation engines. About The Position The Mobile Development Team Lead is responsible for leading one of the software engineering agile delivery teams in CTCT, implementing features in software developed for operators of earthmoving machines. You’ll utilize your leadership qualities to directly lead and inspire a team of up to 8 engineers (including software and test engineers), including communicating the vision and objectives, goal setting, performance management, and career development. You will facilitate the software development process, provide technical guidance to your team and help remove roadblocks for them. You will also collaborate across geographically dispersed CTCT sites to drive continuous improvements in software development processes, and understand the importance of maintainable code and documentation when working in a large organization. What You’ll Bring Utilizing your ability to effectively communicate at both a technical and business requirements level, along with your strong analytical and decision-making skills, you will take ownership and lead your team to complete deliverables. Key traits for this position are strong leadership qualities and excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills. You can work proactively, with limited direction, and manage tasks under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment across multiple time zones. You will need to be someone that enjoys and works well in a team-based environment, as well as being self-motivated to succeed. To be a successful applicant you will have: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields Minimum of 6 years of previous product development experience Experience as a Software Engineering Leader Experience with facilitating Agile development practices Demonstrated expertise in the development of native Android/iOS applications, and a passion for growing that expertise and contributing to the growth of other team members Experience developing software applications that interface with hardware, sensors or other devices.
