The Multnomah County Department of Community Services is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team in Animal Services at our Animal Shelter in Troutdale! As a Project Manager in Animal Services you will provide project management support for the Animal Services division, specifically focused on quality improvement at the Multnomah County Animal Shelter and the implementation of a broad spectrum of recommendations from Multnomah County Auditor and animal welfare experts. This is a very specific and high profile project, initiated at the direction of the Multnomah County Chair. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Lead the planning and implementation of projects and process improvement for Animal Services Develop master project plans Facilitate and present the project scope, goals, milestones, and deliverables Identify project risks and develop contingency plans Assemble, manage, direct, coordinate and support project staff and project team Manage project budgets Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation Monitor, review, and analyze project progress against project plan Assist with the selection and contracting of consultant services for Animal Services projects Act as liaison between consultant and Animal Services staff and management, and County and community stakeholders Communicate and consult with clients, volunteers, staff, and stakeholders to gather information and resolve issues Organize, facilitate, and participate in meetings of stakeholder groups to identify needs and build consensus and collaboration Incorporate stakeholder feedback into the project plan document Assist with change management initiatives and processes in support of the Animal Services management team Coordinate integration of recommendations for policies and operational changes Lead accountability discussions and conduct follow-up reviews of integrated recommendations to ensure accountability Who Are We? Salary: The starting pay assignment will be based on an analysis of the successful candidate’s related experience and education in accordance with the county’s pay equity policy and the Oregon Equal Pay Act. Additional Compensation: Receive a $2,000 retention incentive bonus if hired before July 1st 2023. This signing bonus is taxable, and all regular payroll taxes will be withheld. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. There may be some flexibility with the regular start and end times. There may also be the option to work a 9/80 schedule. Telework: Hybrid Telework: This position is designated as “hybrid telework,” meaning you will be working both remotely (from home) and in person at an onsite location.
