What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Affairs Summer Intern, US Oncology position at 10000036 - Unvalidated Level A?
We are seeking sophomore and junior students majoring in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Public Affairs, Public Policy, Journalism, Public Health, or a related field for a 12-Week Student Intern role to be working on a nationwide team with 3 openings in Gaithersburg, MD for a May 19th - August 8th contract period.
Position Duties:
- Support internal communications activities, including drafting newsletters, helping with town halls, drafting Workplace content and other communications, and much more.
- Aid in development of external communications & activities, including press releases, content for LinkedIn, helping with external Patient Advocacy events, etc.
- Join bi-weekly team meetings to learn from other areas of the corporate affairs team. Gain deeper understanding of the oncology space and how corporate affairs helps to elevate our US Oncology leadership team and presence internally and externally.
- Research trends in oncology and corporate affairs to shape our communications strategy and inform on best practices.
Position Requirements:
- Sophomore and junior students Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Public Affairs, Public Policy, Journalism, Public Health, or a related field. **Candidates must have an expected graduation date after August 2025.
- Copywriting skills in consistency, editing, and persuasiveness are preferred.
- Social media skills (such as Meta Workplace/Facebook and LinkedIn platforms) are required
- Understanding of science or scientific-communication, with is a plus
- Ability to think critically and work independently
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
- Task management skills with willingness to understand leadership priorities and organizational structure
- Enthusiasm for collaboration, cross-functional projects, public speaking, and presentation design.
- US Work Authorization is required at time of application.
- This role will not be providing CPT/OPT support.
- Ability to report onsite to Gaithersburg, MD 3-5 days a week. This role will not provide relocation assistance.
- Minimum grade point average of 3.0
