In this vital role you will play a meaningful role in delivering against Amgen’s commitment to transform the lives of patients and keep them at the center of everything we do. The role will support and deliver communications for the U.S. and global corporate affairs strategy across Amgen’s Cardiovascular, Bone and Neuroscience brands through impactful communications across internal and external audiences. This role reports to the General Medicine Corporate Affairs lead/head. Support and implement the GenMed Corporate Affairs strategy Across three brands Support a coordinated approach to achievements, news flow and activity planning to effectively improve opportunities and prepare against issues. Effectively develop and creatively use internal and external communications channels, including traditional and social media, working with Amgen’s Enterprise teams (e.g. Internal Communications, Media Relations, Social Media and Content teams) as appropriate. Support issues preparedness and crisis management to protect brand and company reputation. Work closely with Legal, Regulatory and Medical on the review and approval of multiple materials/assets through e-Approve and MAC. Effectively work with agency to support clear objectives, critical metrics, continued drive for excellence and innovation in support of the GenMed franchise. Basic Qualifications Doctorate degree Or Master’s degree and 2 years of communications experience Or Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of communications experience Or Associate’s degree and 10 years of communications experience Or High school diploma / GED and 12 years of communications experience Preferred Qualifications More than 5 years in a corporate and/or consultant communications environment. Strong, knowledge of the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry or health care Experience and demonstrated skills in managing and delivering communications strategies and plans in a complex organization. Ability to operate and collaborate effectively on large cross-functional teams. Experience in social and digital media, media relations and issues management. Excellent written, spoken, and interpersonal communication skills, with attention to detail. Able to work in a fast-paced environment, to adapt to change and move projects forward quickly. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and planning skills. Collaboratively works well with a diverse group of people Resourceful self-starter with demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit, enthusiasm and creativity. Ability to combine strategic thinking with hands on delivery.
