Job Details REMOTE POSITION What you will do Under general direction, manages the business performance of the Lighting Services, Solar and Utility Services businesses within the Sustainable Infrastructure (SI) portfolio. Leadership of each of these service areas is core to achieving profitable growth and increased market share within SI North America. Identifies and qualifies opportunities to address adjacent market whitespace in support of regional growth initiatives. Provides strategic direction to regional teams and sales management related to lighting, solar and utility program incentive and project opportunities. Ensures the consistent execution of the standard operating model, tools, and governance for each specialty area. Actively seeks leadership roles within strategic industry associations Aligns and fosters collaboration and cooperation with broader BSNA field organization to enable and actualize growth across all local BE business units. How you will do it LIGHTING: Manages the business by ensuring needed support is available to regional teams throughout the sale, development, delivery, and performance assurance stages of Sustainable Infrastructure bundled solutions to new and existing customers within their local, designated customer base. Analyzes current business performance to ensure strategies are effective in helping regions meet planned revenue and profit goals and recommends adjustments to the plan when necessary. Develops and delivers on long and short-term strategic objectives for profitability and growth in lighting. Works with regional teams to develop business plans and budget for lighting as part of bundled energy efficiency projects. Analyzes strategic opportunity to provide lighting-only projects and lighting services by building understanding of opportunities across various vertical markets and customer segments. Builds business plan to support offering lighting services where economics are favorable, including planned lighting system maintenance and expanded lighting controls capabilities. Builds understanding of long-term trends in lighting technology and potential to incorporate new technologies into energy efficiency retrofit solutions and in support of customer decarbonization goals. Collaborates with regional teams to build plan for lighting team staffing levels and takes action to achieve that plan. Hires, retains, performance manages, and plans for career development of the lighting teams. Ensures adherence to Company policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives regarding human resource management. Establishes and maintains personal long-term relationships with strategically important customers and suppliers to influence opportunities and customer satisfaction. Conducts regular business reviews with regional teams to examine lighting business performance and determine root cause analysis of issues. Facilitates discussions to identify and implement corrective solutions. Develops and manages strategically important third-party relationships that further business development activity. Build alliances that support our business proposition and customer business success. Work closely with the market teams to monitor and analyze market trends and competitive issues within the energy businesses. Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local legal requirements on all lighting projects. SOLAR: Manages existing solar development capability by ensuring business opportunities receive needed support across regional teams throughout the sale, development, delivery, and performance assurance stages of Sustainable Infrastructure bundled solutions to new and existing customers within their local, designated customer base. Analyzes current business performance to ensure solar is a major contributor toward regional revenue and profit goals and recommends adjustments to the plan when necessary. Develops and delivers on long and short-term strategic objectives for profitability and growth in solar. Works with regional teams to develop business plans and budget for solar as part of bundled decarbonization projects. Works closely with Global Sustainable Infrastructure Distributed Energy Resources team on building and executing plan to expand JCI solar development capability (full EPC responsibility), including offering different solar contracting models to match customer preference. Builds understanding of long-term trends in solar technology, project structures, financing, tax and investment incentives and regulatory frameworks to mitigate risk and chart the best long-term plan for the growth of solar within the JCI decarbonization offering portfolio. Collaborates with regional teams to build plan for solar team staffing levels and takes action to achieve that plan. Plan should balance internal capability needs and external partnerships to provide cost-competitive solution options for customers that also support Sustainable Infrastructure profitability goals. Establishes and maintains personal long-term relationships with strategically important customers and suppliers to influence opportunities and customer satisfaction. Conducts regular business reviews with regional teams to examine solar business performance and determine root cause analysis of issues. Facilitates discussions to identify and implement corrective solutions. Develops and manages strategically important third-party relationships that further business development activity. Build alliances that support our business proposition and customer business success. Work closely with the market teams to monitor and analyze market trends and competitive issues within the energy businesses. Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local legal requirements on all solar projects. UTILITY PROGRAM MANAGEMENT SERVICES / FACILITY AUDIT SERVICES: Leads relationship development with Utility Program Management Service to find mutually beneficial partnership arrangements in support of utility-funded energy efficiency programs in the commercial & industrial markets. Positions JCI as preferred solution delivery partner for custom C&I programs to deliver deep energy efficiency retrofits that leverage utility incentives. Drives evaluation of segment leaders in this channel as potential acquisition targets for JCI, and if successful, lead effort to integrate into Sustainable Infrastructure business. Works closely with acquisition target management team to ensure successful delivery of acquisition case business plan, including growth of base business and realization of synergy potential for JCI. Works with JCI Engineering and Solution Development Teams to understand full capabilities of strategic partners in whom JCI has made a minority investment to aid in funding further development of their proprietary building energy audit software and tools. Drive use of those capabilities within JCI SI team to streamline project development, expand team capacity and differentiate our project development approach. What we look for Required Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering. Master's degree preferred. Ten or more years progressively more responsible management experience. Proven Industry experience. Ability to take direction and work in a matrix management organizational structure. Experience in a lead or supervisory role with responsibility for the productivity or development of others.
