We’re currently hiring a Writer to support the National Cancer Institute’s Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences’ Healthcare Delivery Research Program. Responsibilities: Create a range of accurate, compelling materials including fact sheets, web content, press releases, and reports. Transform technical subject matter into plain English in a compelling and engaging way. Create written summaries of conference proceedings and other materials, such as white papers. Prepare written summaries of grant applications and review documents. Summarize scientific literature for reports and publications. Communicate with scientific, program management and communications staff to gather information. Potentially attend scientific meetings or conferences to develop comprehensive summaries of discussions/presentations. Deliver products reflective of ICF and client standards. Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of six years of experience as a professional writer. A bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or equivalent experience in a related field Professional Skills: Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Experience working independently and with diverse teams, including researchers, editors, and communications staff. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Excellent writing and substantive editing skills, with solid attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with public health, cancer, or health equity communications.
