As a Global Inventory Control, you’ll be responsible for managing all activities related to the inventory accuracy of raw materials and finished goods across Abbott Diabetes Cares (ADC) Global Supply Chain. This includes the activities associated with our 3rd party consigned inventory. This individual will perform all transactions within our perpetual inventory systems (PeopleSoft and SAP). The Global Inventory Control Specialist will play a key role in the daily and monthly reconciliation of ADCs perpetual inventory against various TPM (Third party manufacturers) and 3PL (Third party logistics) systems. They will monitor the cycle counting at our 3rd party sites. They will publish the results of the reconciliation and cycle counts monthly to Finance. This individual will also identify obsolete / expired finished goods at our 3PL and initiate disposal. This individual will provide system support across our Business Units and assist Information Technologies (IT) with Interface support/execution. This is an onsite opportunity in Alameda, CA. What You’ll Work On Input alpha/numeric data into ADCs perpetual inventory system (PeopleSoft and SAP) and Excel Spreadsheets. Participate in physical inventories. Research and reconcile inventory errors, daily, to ensure all applicable systems are in balance. Assist with receiving materials from outside suppliers and intercompany shipments. Serve as systems coordinator for all Inventory Control transactions that need to be processed in order to maintain an accurate Global Inventory. Research, validate and ensure processing of all affiliate credit requests due to billing, customer service, or other errors. Maintain the accuracy of ADC materials and their movement within our 3rd party locations. Maintain accurate records per corporate record retention requirements. Individual will be accountable for maintaining accurate inventory by following material transaction procedures. Individual will participate as a Team Member: Contributes to the definition of the teams mission, objectives, and strategies. Accepts team decisions and works toward their implementation; draws on the strengths of each team member, seeks input from team members, works cross functionally to resolve issues and productivity improvements. Individual must be skilled and proficient in the following: Required Qualifications BA/BS in Business or related discipline required as demonstration of decision making skills, and the ability to understand Inventory Control. Degree may be waved in lieu of a minimum of 6 years coordination experience in Inventory Control, Logistics or Customer Service. Requires inventory control experience with warehousing, distribution and system interface knowledge. Familiar with MS Excel, MS Word, and an email program such as MS Outlook or Lotus Notes.
