We are looking for a QA Team Leader on the Deep Secure products. The QA TL assesses the maturity, usability, and general quality of the software. They are involved in full-life validation from concept through to end-of-life. The role is independent of the development team but advises that team on all aspects of product quality. Key responsibilities: Maintains a customer-focused view for new and existing products – including reviewing user requirements, test plans, and design/user documentation. Manage 3-5 QA engineers, each working tightly with a different development team Advises on the market readiness of all Deep Secure products and ways forward / areas in need of improvement. Planning: Define, implement, and manage an effective validation process. Manage the QA Team in undertaking validation activities. Defining the scope of QA within the context of each anticipated release/delivery. Quality: To provide input on all aspects of software quality from initial product discussions through release and onto end-of-life. Contribute to the ISO9001 quality process. Performs validation on all pre-beta software to confirm the viability of the approach and “fitness for test” ahead of it passing across to the test members of the Development and Test Team. This includes the preparation of a validation report that summarizes findings and recommendations and chairing a review discussion meeting. Ensures that extended soak testing of current products is performed to confirm any resource contention and/or post-deployment issues. Ensures that performance tests are executed to ensure that new versions of software do not regress and to ensure that new offerings are comparable with industry/customer expectations. Recruitment: Involved in the recruitment of members for the QA Team. Mentoring validators and testers and reviewing their plans and output. Liaison with appropriate parties including the Operations Director and the Engineering Director to ensure that issues arising are understood in a timely manner ahead of each anticipated release. Ideally, you possess: Demonstrable experience in secure software testing. Essential recent experience in testing the following: Web (HTTP/HTTPS) and GUI and Desktop Applications Experience as a QA TL Strong leadership capabilities Experience of setting up and using Virtual Machines Experience of performing packet capture and analysis Linux knowledge, ideally RHEL Full product lifecycle knowledge Strong domain knowledge of application security (detailed understanding of implementation from a testing perspective) The ability to consider wider implications of software design and deployment to anticipate customer use and management needs The ability to work collaboratively and diplomatically across functions within the business Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Suitability to hold UK security clearance is essential. Desirable experience: Using cloud (AWS and Azure) as a test environment and testing cloud services in AWS and Azure Internet standard (SMTP/MIME) email messaging Software encryption TCP/IP protocols including SNMP, SFTP, Syslog, NTP Configuring and using communications equipment such as routers, switches, and other IP network test equipment Test Tools: Essential: Use of Test and Defect Management Tools Preferred: Jira, Azure DevOps Server (or Microsoft Team Foundation Server and Visual Studio Team System) Test Automation: · Desirable: Test Automation experience We are mission driven.
